A group of restored farm buildings in the department of Sarthe, between Normandy and the Loire valley. We offer top quality holiday accommodation in rural setings with either private pools ( Le Bourg ) or with a large shared pool (La Riviere).We own and manage the gites and our aim is to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. As you can see from the map Vibraye is only 11 km from the A11 autoroute and just over two hours from the ferry port at Caen Ouistreham. The busy village has a wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and 3 boulangeries providing freshly baked baguettes 7 days a week. Nearby is the pretty market town La Ferte Bernard . Hypermarkets and many other shops are found in Le Mans.The city has a busy shopping area, the famous gothic cathedral plus the restored old town. The city is also home of the 24 hour race in June. The circuit and motor museum is approximately 45 minutes from Vibraye. (Why not rent for the week of the race-we offer special rates for group bookings.) The town of Amboise on the Loire is just over an hour away an excellent starting point for exploring the chateaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley To the east the city of Chartres with its magnificent cathedral and stained glass is an hour away on the autoroute or by train from La Ferte Bernard. Paris is only 160 km by autoroute or 42 minutes by fast train (TGV) from Vendome. There are TGV trains direct to Eurodisney and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport from Le Mans. Closer to home the town of Vendome on the river Loir is well worth a visit as are the numerous pretty villages in the area. Local markets, still thriving in France, offer a range of home grown produce as do several local organic farms. Nearby the forest of Vibraye 5000 hectares of oak and beech is criss-crossed by forest tracks ideal for cycling or walking or you may just prefer to relax on the terrace by the pool.
